The 32nd Asia Pacific Dental Congress is to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in May 2010. This is the second time for Sri Lanka Dental Association to play host to APDC. I was present in the previous Congress and I must admit that I enjoyed it very satisfactorily. On behalf of APDF/APRO, I extend congratulations to the Sri Lanka Dental Association on the successful hosting of the 32nd APDC and I am confident that another congress of highest caliber is forthcoming.
Asia Pacific Dental Federation (APDF) has grown into a federation comprising of 26 countries and it is anticipated the growth is continuing. The key objective of establishment of APDF is to raise public awareness of oral health care and enhance their consciousness of oral and dental disease prevention and treatment. The 32nd APDC will present all dental colleagues with quality and diversified symposia, lectures, presentations and hands-on workshops. It is sure that participants will find the programs stimulating and enlightening. Running concurrently with these scientific programs, the trade exhibition will provide an ideal platform to showcase advanced technology and innovation.
Colombo has a very scenic countryside and a visit to it on leisure time will sooth one's tense temperament. In addition the excellent hospitality offered by Sri Lanka people is so well known that no visitor should miss enjoying it. I would like to thank the 32nd Local Organizing Committee for all the hard work and dedication and I look forward to seeing you in Colombo.
