In addition to the outstanding Scientific Programme, visitors will be able to enjoy the culture and sights of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is aptly called the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Your options are limitless with the Golden Beaches to the ancient cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa which date back many centuries, the rock Fortress of Sigiriya which was named the 8th Wonder of the World, and the Cool climate of the hill station Nuwara Eliya surrounded by lush green tea estates, will indeed take your breath away. Colombo, which is known as the Garden City, has a wide array of restaurants and shopping areas. The City itself is bounded on the West by the beautiful Indian Ocean.
There are many excursions to suit your interests. The month of May is a wonderful time to visit, and we encourage you to extend your trip and discover the beauty of the island.
